Blood Donors = Living A Normal Life

We spend one day in the childrens hospital every month. Two of our children have a blood disorder called Sickle cell thalassaemia. They both require whole red blood transfusions every four weeks, so they can both live a normal life. Our children both have approximately six dedicated donors.

There are many types of Blood Donors.
Some people donate blood once in their lifetime, others might donate two or three times. Then there are those that donate blood for many years until they can no longer do so. There are those donors that give whole red blood, those that donate platelets and others donate plasma.
